Majestic Princess is now officially the third ship in Princess Cruises’ Royal Princess Class of ship, following her delivery from shipbuilder Fincantieri.
The ship, which was exclusively designed for the Chinese market, was handed over at a ceremony which took place at the Monfalcone shipyard in Italy. The event was well attended with Italian Prime Minister Paulo Gentiloni, Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison and Carnival CEO Arnold Donald all present as well as Fincantieri chairman Giampiero Massolo and CEO Giuseppe Bono.
Also in attendance was Group President of Princess Cruises, Jan Swartz who said: ““Majestic Princess has arrived and we are thrilled to add this new jewel to our crown representing the newest, most stylish and most luxurious flagship in our fleet.We are ready to deliver an exceptional international cruise vacation experience to our guests.”
Designed exclusively for the Chinese market, Majestic Princess features the new Princess livery alongside the Chinese symbols for “Grand Spirit”. Majestic will begin her inaugural season in Europe until May, before re-positioning to China and her new homeport of Shanghai.
